How do you keep greasy hair looking nice?

I Have dry hair and scalp. No amount of shampoos will help this problem. I have tried not shampooing, thinking the problem will resolve itself...but no, my hair is still dry, and so is my scalp. Mom puts oil in my hair every now and then. I don't want her to, but it's better than dry hair. IT's easier to comb when like this, but it doesn't stay nice. I comb it out, I comb it slow, I comb it in parts, but in the end, it just all looks clumpy. My hair is wavy, and no matter how I try to comb the waves out, it's still that way and the grease keeps it so. So my hair looks good up top, but is all clumps hanging down. Any help would be appreicated, thanks.

DO NOT STOP MASSAGING OIL TO YOUR HAIR %26amp; SCALP. THIS WAY, YOU WILL NOT GET DANDRUFF TOO. YOUR MOM IS DOING GOOD THING, DON'T SAY NO TO HER.

Next time, massage oil into your scalp and hair only with finger tips 30 minutes before going to bed. Take a head bath next day morning. (remember oil should not be massaged with palm on head) Trim the ends.

Tips for getting red of dry hair:

a) Apply an egg to your hair. This helps a moisturizer and lessens the frizz

b) Apply henna: Boil one cup of water with 1 tsp. of tea powder. Mix 1 cup of henna powder , 1/4 cup of amla powder. Soak it overnight. Next day morning mix 1/2 cup of curd, 1 egg. mix and apply. let it stay for atleast 4 hrs. While washing do not use shampoo. You can use shampoo the next day. (Henna should be in a thick consistency so that you can easily apply to your hair either with hand or brush)

If you cannot apply henna by yourself, ask your mom's help; or go to a beautician.... no need of costly beauty parlor.

I recommend the head and shoulders "smooth and silky" and the Herbal Essences line of shampoos---they have really good ones for moisture and smoothness.

if u live in the country and dont have a water softener, it could be the iron build up in the water that is in your hair. Even if u live in the city if u dont have a softener then u need to go to the salon and they have a wash they can do that takes the iron out and will make your hair more manageable, I have real oily hair i have to wash it everyday. I use head and shoulders, u should mayb try blow drying your hair also. Dont put oil in your hair, thats not good, if u really want to look like a grease ball put it in but not a good idea. and for gods sake dont go to a cost cutters, go some place where they have had the same stylist for a while.

start massaging ur scalp with baby warm mustard oil twice a week, keep it over night wash it with a good shampoo, try using a conditioner form herbal essence which suites ur wavy dry hair,i think conditioner for frizzy hair will do,

Try professional deep conditioning every month or so. Try to use a separate good brand of a conditioner and apply that twice after shampooing. Keep the conditioner in for atleast 2-3 minutes before rinsing it off. You could also try a leave in conditioner or hair serum (I like the one by john freida)...drinks lots of water and take vitamin e and a supplements.

Well firstly trim your hair real good and make it thin.

Then every night apply some coconut oil , mixed with olive oil and castor oil and leave it to be washed away in the morning and then you can rinse it wid a shampoo and aftermath with a good conditioners.
