Why do I hear static when i comb my hair.?

Lately while combing my hair I have heard static. When I comb my hair or run my hand through it it sounds like electricity. What is the cause of this.

Why do I hear static when i comb my hair.?

It's just static electricity. It's the same thing that shocks you when touch a metal doorknob. It happens mostly in the winter time when the air is dryer and cooler. You can try spraying some hair spray on your comb and that should help.

Why do I hear static when i comb my hair.?

Because you are making electricity charges while combing your hair.

This is always happening while hair is dry. This is static elecricity by friction of two objects each other.

Where I live it is now winter. In the cold months people turn on the heat in their homes, offices cars, etc....... This dries the surrounding air robbing it of its humidity. With less humidity in the air your hair becomes dry.(moist hair has more lubrication) The dry hair rubbing against each other causes friction. Friction causes static electricity. Therefor you are hearing the static in your hair. Now, if your weather is still warm where you live.......I"m at a loss.
