Hi! problem with my wife's hair...please help...?

well I'm sorry to say she is going to have to cut it off maybe to shoulder length and continue to use the shampoos and what not. But yes she will have to cut some hair off

She MUST be treated by a professional!

You have to wash all the sheets, blankets, pillow cases- all the linens in the house in hot water. Also spray down the bed and couch with the lice killing spray, her car seats, anywhere her head may touch. Throw away all of her brushes, rubber bands, etc. After using the shampoo the eggs are dead so your problem is not from not removing them well enough- its that she keeps getting re-infected over and over again. Has her class been tested for lice by ther school nurse?

She probably will have to cut her hair. It's nearly impossible to get all of the nits out of long hair. She can try a prescription shampoo if she's comfortable asking her doctor about the problem, but even it may not help.

Once the problem is taken care of, she should probably wear her hair up or braided when she's near her students...probably how she got it was that she leaned over to talk to one of them, her hair was near theirs, and the lice jumped on.

I've heard of using grapefruit seed extract to get rid of lice, but I haven't tried that personally. A couple of the kids I babysit got lice, and their mother and I cut their hair to shoulder-length or shorter and then combed all the eggs out, after using the lice-killing shampoo.

take her to a hair Specialist so they can fix the problem

She probably got the lice from the school children, and even if she has successfully treated her own head lice, if the children haven't been checked and treated, then she can just pick lice up again from them.

So I'd suggest having the whole class checked and treated if neccessary, at the same time as your wife tries again with the shampoo. If that doesnt work, then she will have to try a different thing, such as cutting her hair shorter

She is probably picking it up at school.

Shampoo, then wrap hear head in a warm towel soaked in a hot water and vinegar solution for 5-15 min. Then, use fine comb. Then pick nits.

Repeat every couple of days until gone.

Hi! problem with my wife's hair...please help...?

Hi! problem with my wife's hair...please help...?

Somehow I'm having trouble believing this story. If your wife is a well educated person which you state she's a teacher, then she should know that she is going to need to cut her hair if she honestly can not get rid of it. I would be embarrassed too if I was actually going out in public and itching my head because it was full of lice.

The ONLY way to do it is to have a proffesional come by your house. You cannot do it as well as her. She comes with special tools and magnifying glasses. For her hair length, I'm sorry to say but it will take at least 5 hours. There are also some products which you can use IN ADDITION to having a proffesional come that will probably shorten the time of their visit. Below are some links to websites that might help.

she has 2 choices. 1 shave her head, 2 use the product exactly as the directions state, use that fine tooth comb. pin her hair up. start from the back with one eighth inch sections ans start from the bottom. work until you reach the scalp. go to the next section. if you do not remove all the nits they will hatch and they multiply like rabbits do. i have seem teenagers that did not remove the nits and had lice for over 2 years. also soak your bed linens in a sink of boiling water for 10 minutes then launder. you may want to purchase new pillows. also if you are sleeping in the same bed with her you will want to do a treatment on yourself as well

keep using the lice samphoo. Make sure you disinfect everything (clothes, sheets, combs, towels, etc.)

Rinse hair with rubbing alcohol to kill the lice. Next pick each one out one by one if you really want to save her hair. Don't forget all the upholstered surfaces in your home need to be sprayed, washed etc. Do it like crazy and kill everything or they will continue to come back. If you find live ones throw them into an ashtray and burn them immediately. These suckers are good jumpers.
