Why is my hair falling out so much?

everytime i comb my hair it falls out...and i mean a lot. i dont even have to comb it and it will fall out even if i just run my hands through my hair. it keeps falling out. is this normal? what do i have to do so it wont fall out?

Why is my hair falling out so much?

if your hair is longer it tends to fall out more easily. try giving it a trim. also eat more protein and seaweed and plenty of calcium (milk, cheeses, etc). those strengthen skin hair and nails.

it is normal for hair to come out, but it shouldnt come out super easy. my hair comes out when i comb it. thats normal but i wouldnt know how big of a problem yours is unless i see how much hair has come out.

This is going to sound really weird, but it happened to us right after Hurricane Katrina.

You might not be getting enough protein in your diet.

I was told by a doctor that this will cause you to lose your hair, sometimes by the handfuls.

A friend, who was a POW in Viet Nam said that he lost his hair due to stress and malnutrition.

Hair goes through seven year cycles. tell yourself [no need to tell us haha] how old you are and see if that fits. Out with the old, in with the new.

Also, if you've had a child and stopped nursing, your hair will literally pour out of your scalp...most disturbing. But it will stop falling out, and grow in thick again after a few months. Hormones. God bless'em I love/hate them.

The last answer is hypothyroidism [under active thyroid gland], so you shoud get that checked, simple blood test.

Make sure you get your iron...

Badly damaged hair breaks at the scalp. To treat hair loss apply a little lemon juice with some black tea. Massage well and shampoo.Rub oil into the scalp. Wring out a towel in hot water and wrap it on the head. Keep it on for 15 minutes. Shampoo and dry well. Check out http://usefulinfo-hairloss.blogspot.com/ for more info.
